Our 3 Days 2 Nights Mukono Agricultural Tour Uganda is a short holiday Tour that allows guests to visit agriculturally based operations in Mukono Uganda located close to Kampala.
The tour takes you to Mukono Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MUZARDI) one of the 16 Public Agricultural Research Institutes (PARIs) under the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) established under the National Agricultural Research System (NAR) Act of 2005.
Mukono ZARDI is mandated to carry out applied and adaptive agricultural research and technology dissemination in the Lake Victoria Crescent Agro-ecological Zone. You will explore in detail the following Projects

Day 1: Drive to Mukono Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MUZARDI)
0800 Hours: Breakfast at City Side Hotel in Mukono followed by a departure to Mukono Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MUZARDI) with in Mukono Central Division.
We then branch off to proceed to Ntaawo about 2km’s on murram driving through impressive countryside landscapes exploring the local farming practices before arriving at MUZARDI.
Upon arrival, you embark on the tour of the center. The center acts as the agricultural hub serving as a center of research about animal and crop husbandry not forgetting the agricultural soils.
The tour to the projects being undertaken and the accomplished ones including the crop and animal interbreeding, the new farming practices, the soil – crop matching, the palatable and highly nutritious pastures for livestock among others.
It is a whole day study tour (with lunch included) that will not only make your encounter memorable but also reward you with remarkable knowledge that you can apply to your farm to teach to others for impressive results.
After the tour, you drive back to City Side Hotel Mukono for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Mukono – Drive to The Source of the Nile
Transfer to Jinja: On this beautiful day, you will be picked up from your Hotel in Mukono and driven by our company driver towards Jinja. Make a stopover along the road for some snacks, roasted plantain (gonja), roasted chicken that will be eaten along the way.
Mabira Forest Experience: You will have a stopover at Mabira Forest for birding where several voices of the birds will be heard up in the canopy as they sing beautiful and sweet melodies and then do a zip- lining in the tropical rain forest. After birding and zip lining in mabira, you proceed towards Jinja town. On your way, you will be able to see the beautiful sceneries of tea and sugar cane plantations.
Jinja Source of the Nile Experience: After arriving in Jinja town, you will have your lunch at Gately on Nile Hotel and thereafter lunch, do a city tour of Jinja town where you will walk towards the Jinja railway station where you will see the railway line that connects Uganda and Kenya, visit the Gandhi statue, craft shops where you will buy some beautiful souvenirs and conclude your tour a boat cruise which will take you to the exact source of the Nile river where you will see several water birds and the Speke monument.
Return to Mukono: Then your driver will drive you back to Mukono to your hotel or to the airport in case you want to depart to another destination.
End of the tour
Day 3: Day 3 will end with a Tour Mukono Town but you are free to extend your stay at City Side Hotel Mukono for as long as wish.
